flawesome award

Wow what a brilliant award to be nominated for! This is a new one to me I’ve never heard of it before, probably because I’ve never been lucky to be before, or maybe it’s new, who knows?

Anyway waffle over (for now!) I was nominated for this award by two really lovely bloggers   zaralouu and Elles ecrit you should check out both their blogs, Zara posts a lot about lifestyle and beauty and Ellen loves to bake and posts some delicious looking recipes!  Thank you to both of you for thinking about me!

The flawesome Award is brilliant! The purpose of it is to look at our flaws and then turn them into positive things.  How cool is that?!  So if you are nominated, you should choose three flaws and then think how they are a positive, rather than a negative.

This award was created by the lovely Sophia Ismaa. She wanted to create an award that celebrates our faults.

Here is Sophia’s description of this award:

“It’s time to celebrate the flaws that make you awesome.

How many times do we see an award that celebrates all things bright and shiny and sunny in a person? How often do we forget that our weaknesses can be a strength? Our flaws make us human, our flaws tell us more about who we are, and in turn we turn those flaws into awesome strengths. In short, our flaws make us #flawesome.”

Here are the rules:

  1. Link back to the creator – Sophia Ismaa Writes
  2. Display the award
  3. List 3 flaws and turn it into a strength
  4. Tag 10 other people

I AM FLAWESOME!

3 Ways That I am ‘Flawesome’

Well firstly I think I need to talk about how fussy I am about washing my hands and the fact I like other people to as well.  It’s a bit of a ‘thing’ for me…  well all I can say is that yes I wash my hands after I’ve taken the dog for a walk, or played with him, or loaded the washing machine, or been to the loo, or done gardening, or done housework or cleaned shoes, or been at work or driven my car – there’s more but I think you get the picture – but hey my hands are always clean and look clean and I know that I’m not going to get any disgusting germs on my food or in my tea… hopefully that’s normal ( or maybe I’m a little ocd.)

I can be quite tough on myself.  As in – I sometimes get a bit annoyed with myself if I can’t do something.  But this makes me determined and resilient and I will keep trying until I get it.  This, in turn, makes me a good learner – and it doesn’t usually take long to get the hang of something!  I actually love learning new things!! I’m in my element in my new job really because I’m learning constantly.  I am effectively doing two different jobs on different days, So although I’m finding it kind of tricky to get my head around all the new things I need to know – because there is so so much -my goodness I have learnt SO MUCH in six weeks it’s ridiculous 😀

Another thing I do, which kind of annoys me a little bit, is overthink things…and I do it quite a lot!  So for example I might need to do something and then I think, hmm but what if…. or something like that so it can delay me doing the actual thing I needed to do.  I do it with my blog sometimes.  I might have an idea that I want to write about but then that niggling voice says “but what if one person reads it the wrong way and gets offended or upset…” so that makes me feel I can’t write it, but then I think “well no it’s not going to offend anyone so it’s ok…”   So some straight forward tasks can take me much longer than they need to.  BUT on the flip side, I am very careful and thorough when I do things AND I know I go out my way to think  of others 🙂

So that’s me really!

I really enjoyed doing this and it’s a brilliant idea for an award.  Sophia is right we should celebrate our flaws and turn them into positives.
